The body of the slain Haitian President Jovenel Moise was returned to his hometown and the funeral is taking place amid tight security measures.

The wife of the assassinated President and three of his children were present at the funeral.

When she came near the deceased’s casket the present crowd chanted cries of “Justice! Justice!”.

After Haitian officials arrived at the funeral many started pointing towards them and blamed them for the President’s killing.

“You didn’t take any measures to save Jovenel! You contributed to his killing!” a woman shouted pointing at Haitian officials.

Another man, who seemed to be one of Moises supporters, threatened Haiti’s National Police Chief Leon Charles.

“You need to leave now or we’re going to get you after the funeral!” said the man.

“They took his life, but they can’t take his memories. They can’t take his brain. They can’t take his ideas. We are Jovenel Moise,”  said a priest who presided over the ceremony.

Haiti is in turmoil since Haitian President Jovenel Moise was shot to death in his residence on July 7, the First Lady Martine Moise was wounded. A total of 26 Colombians are suspected of the killing. Moise had tapped Ariel Henry to replace Joseph Claude as PM in the days before his assassination.
