At least 92 percent of patients vaccinated by Russia’s Sputnik V receive absolute protection from COVID, said Alexander Gintsburg, head of the Gamaleya Center.
Those people have sterile immunity, he said on the air of the Rossiya 24 channel.
Russia has approved two vaccines against coronavirus - Sputnik V (developed at the Gamaleya Center) and EpiVacCorona (created by the Vector Center specialists). The third vaccine developed by the Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations is expected to pass registration shortly.
NEWS.ru reported earlier that COVID mutations cannot affect the vaccine’s effectiveness.
