Mass vaccination against coronavirus in Russia will take place in stages and consider the country’s geographical characteristics, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, TASS reports.

He said that the Kremlin expects vaccinations to begin before the New Year.

I can’t say the exact date, but it should already start before the New Year, he said.

Peskov stressed that the main principle in this matter is voluntariness. In his opinion, it is premature to reveal the date when everyone willing to get vaccinated against COVID will do so.

This will be done in stages, considering our country’s geography and the peculiarities of various substances’ storage, the press secretary said.

He noted that the task is to make these stages minimal and ensure obtaining the drug as soon as possible.

NEWS.ru earlier reported that the coronavirus became a challenge that humanity has never faced, and the Kremlin notes that the epidemiological situation in Russia is deteriorating, Peskov said.
