There is a slowdown in the incidence rate of coronavirus infection in 77 regions of Russia, Head of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian consumer watchdog) Anna Popova said.

This is a sign of an improvement in the epidemiological situation, she noted.

She added that in several regions, the incidence rates of coronavirus infection are high, so special measures must be taken.

At the same time, the daily incidence of COVID-19 in Russia is 3-4-5 times lower than in some countries, she noted.

NEWS.ru earlier reported that despite the development of the epidemiological process in Russia, there are no grounds for pessimistic forecasts for coronavirus incidence, said Alexander Gorelov, deputy director for scientific work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor.
