The number of Russian schools quarantined due to the coronavirus spread has increased to 79, the Ministry of Education reported.


Eight schools were suspended, and one came out of quarantine on December 4. Educational institutions are closed in 29 regions. They make 0.2% of the total number of schools in the country.

Among individual classes, 1.03% are closed for quarantine, according to the ministry's Telegram channel.

Earlier, the ministry noted that the domestic system of secondary education is facing serious challenges. Today, 20% of Russian schoolchildren are on remote learning.

NEWS.ru reported earlier that the number of schools closed for quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic had increased again, with 12 more educational institutions halting in-person learning.
