Russia records 28,209 new COVID cases

Over the past day, Russia has recorded 28,209 new cases of coronavirus infection, according to the headquarters for combating the spread of COVID.


The daily morbidity in the country has slightly decreased compared to the previous day. On Dec. 18, Russia registered 28,552 cases of coronavirus infection.

Moreover, over the past 24 hours, 26,109 patients have recovered from COVID. Besides, 585 people have become victims of the disease in the country.

During the entire period of the pandemic, over 85.4 million laboratory tests for coronavirus infection were carried out, including 527,000 tests over the past day. This is while 602,484 people remain under medical supervision.

In total, for the entire time of the pandemic, 2,819,429 cases of coronavirus infection were detected. Of them, 2,254,742 people recovered and 50,347 COVID patients died.

NEWS.ru reported earlier that pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Moderna won’t be held responsible for the side effects of the COVID vaccine when tested on volunteers.
