Up to 20 people were heavily injured in a stampede at Kabul airport gate, as Western counties continue the evacuation of their diplomats and staff, a NATO security official said.

NATO has also asked Afghan civilians to stay away from the airport unless they have a passport or a visa to travel.

A Taliban commander said that at least 40 people have died from the shootout of foreign forces at the Kabul airport since Monday.

Earlier it was reported that the Taliban opened fire at civilians that protested against the replacement of Afghanistan’s flag by the Taliban’s.
