German foreign minister Heiko Maas said Thursday that Berlin won’t give any more money to Afghanistan if Taliban* militants take over power and introduce sharia law.

"We provide 430 million euros ($505 million) every year, we will not give another cent if the Taliban takes over the country and introduces Sharia law," Heiko Maas told broadcaster ZDF.

Taliban has been conducting its offensive in Afghanistan recently, amid almost full US troops withdrawal from the country.

The militants have already captured more than 6 major cities in the span of just two days.

The pace the organization is taking over the country recently prompted Afghan’s president Ashraf Ghani to consider supplying civilians with weapons to stop the Taliban’s advance towards the Afghani capital Kabul.

In the meanwhile, Taliban is attempting to establish diplomatic relations with neighboring countries by sending diplomatic delegations to China, Russia, and Pakistan.
