President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced the transfer of the Kalbajar region adjacent to Nagorno-Karabakh under Baku's control.

Dear compatriots, today, the Kalbajar region has been liberated from occupation, Aliyev said, as he addressed the nation on AzTV channel.

Aliyev congratulated 'the entire Azerbaijani people' on this occasion.

On the night of November 10, the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, adopted a joint statement on the conditions for ending the conflict in Karabakh. Under the terms of the agreement, the armies of Armenia and Azerbaijan remained in their places, and the parties started exchanging war prisoners and dead bodies. Russia assists in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and takes part in the elimination of its consequences.

NEWS.ru reported earlier that the deployment of the Azerbaijani army had started in the Kalbajar district in the Nagorno Karabakh region as part of the trilateral agreement between Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
