President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group that deals with the settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair from France Stéphane Visconti, US Co-Chair Andrew Schofer, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov, and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, Aliyev's press service reported.
Nagorno-Karabakh is turning from a ‘region of contradictions into a region of stability,’ and Russia will do everything possible to facilitate this process, Sergey Lavrov said earlier at a press conference in Moscow.
On the night of Nov. 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan adopted a joint statement on ending the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Under its terms, the armies of Armenia and Azerbaijan remained in their places, and the parties started exchanging war prisoners. Russian peacekeepers control compliance with the ceasefire.
