Russian emergencies minister reveals main tasks of mission in Karabakh
The mission of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Nagorno-Karabakh is tasked with the early restoration and normalization of life in the region, said Minister of Emergency Situations Yevgeny Zinichev.

The Russian official made a working trip to Azerbaijan and Armenia, where he held meetings with representatives of the two states. He discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the country's Minister of Emergency and Civil Defense Kamaladdin Heydarov, and the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan.
The armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh resumed on September 27, 2020. On the night of November 10, the presidents of Russian and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, signed a joint statement on the conditions for ending the conflict. Under the terms of the agreement, the two armies remained in their positions. Russia deployed its peacekeepers to the region. Moreover, Baku regained control over five areas of Karabakh. The parties agreed to exchange prisoners and the bodies of those dead.
Specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were also dispatched to the area to monitor the humanitarian situation in the region and provide assistance to residents.
NEWS.ru reported earlier that 35 wagons with humanitarian aid from Russia arrived in Karabakh.
