Kanye West releases his 10th album Donda starring guests at issue

Among guest artists there are Marilyn Manson accused of rape, DaBaby accused of homophobic comments and Chris Brown found guilty of domestic violence against Rihanna.

American rapper Kanye West released on Sunday his 10th studio album Donda, entitled after his late mother Donda West who died in 2007.

Donda was initially supposed to be released on July 24, 2020, under the name “DND: WTH CHLD”.

Over the last month, the album has seen stadium-filling listening parties, has been made available for pre-sale, postponed, and finally issued officially.

Donda has already become the first album in AppleMusic's history to occupy the first rank in its charts in 130 countries.

Recently West has organized several listening events for the album in Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Chicago.

The album consists of 27 tracks, with one of them, “Jail pt 2”, recorded with DaBaby, being unavailable at the moment since the manager of the latter hasn’t cleared the song for use.

After the appearance of the album West claimed on his Instagram that “Universal put his album out without his approval”. The post has been later deleted.

DaBaby has been widely accused of homophobia, but West refused to drop the rapper since DaBaby was “the only one who said he would vote for Kanye [at the 2020 presidential elections] in public”.

One of the tracks features Marilyn Manson who was accused of sexual abuse by his ex-girlfriend actress Evan Rachel Wood in February. Manson was also charged with assault and sexual misconduct in 2001 and "unspecified sex crimes" in 2018.

Among other notable guest artists, there are Pusha-T, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Baby Keem, Jeremih, Lil Durk, Roddy Riich, Pop Smoke, and others.

In Donda, Kanye touches on topics of religion and his hyped break-up with Kim Kardashian.
