Drakeo the Ruler was stabbed by a group of men at the backstage and remains in critical condition, insiders report.

Once Upon A Time In LA music festival has been canceled after a group of unknown men reportedly stabbed backstage Drakeo the Ruler in the neck. Multiple sources report that the rapper was pronounced dead in hospital but the information remains unconfirmed.

People reporter Tomas Mier made a post on Twitter in which he said that the assault had taken place about 8:40 p.m. and Drakeo, whose real name is Darrell Caldwell, had been rushed to hospital, adding that the event was canceled shortly after.

The incident was also confirmed by the LAPD who has opened an investigation into the case. Still, Los Angeles police, assisted by California Highway Patrol, did not unveil any names or the consequences of the attack.

The official account of the festival announced that the event had been closed early and urged the concertgoers to leave the area.

Drakeo the Ruler released his first album in February 2021. Among the possible motives for the attack can be a 2016 incident following which a 24-year old man was left dead. Caldwell was acquitted of a murder charge in 2019, as well as of five attempted murder charges and conspiracy to commit murder.

The festival was supposed to be headlined by Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, The Game, 50 Cent, and YG.
