The event was attended by a limited number of guests, however, it is still an improvement from last year when the event was held in a virtual mode due to COVID-19 measures.

The latest Emmy award is the 73rd and it took place in Los Angeles at the Microsoft theater.

The Crown was awarded for the Best Drama series with Gillian Anderson who played Margaret Thatcher receiving an award for Supporting Actress.

While Tobias Menzies who played Prince Philip in the same show won Best Supporting Actor and the actress of Queen Elizabeth Olivia Colman won in the Lead Actress category. While the best comedy award was given to “Ted Lasso” series.

The actors of “Ted Lasso” Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein received an award for Best Supporting Actor, and Jason Sudeikis was chosen for the Outstanding Lead Actor award.

Evan Peters received a Supporting Actor award for his role in “Mare of Easttown” where the main character was played by Kate Winslet.

Other winners for different awards were John Oliver, Lucia Aniello, Jean Smart, Debbie Allen, Scott Frank, and Ewan McGregor.

The stars appeared in fashionable dresses and special looks, however, some people on social media started blasting them for their fashion choices. 

That was the case of Emma Corrin who was slammed on social media for her style which seemed a bit strange to Twitter users who joked about Emma's outfit choice.


Earlier, United States representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was hit with the second ethics complaint regarding her appearance at Monday night’s Met Gala due to her alleged violating rules on accepting gifts.
