Head of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Consumer Watchdog) Anna Popova said that the mortality rate of coronavirus infection in Russia is 1.7 percent, while the average rate globally is 2.3 percent, RIA Novosti reports.


The situation with the coronavirus infection as of today: the total number of cases in the world is 67.8 million, the total number of recovered people is 46.7 million, a relatively high specific mortality rate - 2.3 percent. In Russia, it is just over 2.5 million infected, 1.9 million recovered, and the mortality rate is 1.7 percent, Popova noted.
