Large-scale production of Russia's EpiVacCorona coronavirus vaccine will begin in February, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.

The Sputnik V vaccine is already being widely used. EpiVacCorona vaccine of the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology VECTOR has begun to enter the civilian circulation and be used to vaccinate the population. At the same time, large-scale production will start in February 2021, RIA Novosti reported citing Golikova.

Russia has registered two vaccines against coronavirus: Sputnik V (developed by the Gamaleya Center) and EpiVacCorona (created at the VECTOR Center). The third drug is being developed by the Chumakov Center specialists of the Russian Academy of Sciences and is expected to be registered soon. Besides, the Gamaleya Center is working on a lighter version of Sputnik V.

NEWS.ru earlier reported that only 317 Argentines vaccinated against the coronavirus with the Russian Sputnik Vvaccine developed complications. It makes approximately 1% of the total number of vaccinated, the country's Health Ministry said.
