Study participants were exposed to electrodes for painful sensations. At that moment, they were in extreme cold. During the experiment, experts monitored the activity of the brain using a particular device.
After testing, the volunteers admitted that they experienced less pain from the electrodes amid cold. It turned out that one source of the pain can significantly weaken the sensation of another. Scientists believe that people who have contraindications for analgesics or other pain relievers can use such methods, Economy Today reports.
