Police arrested a suspect in the shooting at a bar on Nikolskaya Street in the center of Moscow, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. 


The incident occurred out at a bar close to Red Square on December 30. The suspect opened fire using a firearm, wounding two people.

On Sunday Moscow police pulled over the car driven by a 26-year-old suspect who is alleged to be involved in the shooting with a 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman injured. During the arrest, the suspect injured himself and was hospitalized, the ministry's Department of the City of Moscow said.

Moscow law enforcement officers were looking for a native of the Mari El born in 1991, registered in the city of Zhukovsky, Moscow Region.

The shooting at a bar on Nikolskaya Street in Moscow could be caused by jealousy that occurred among visitors while intoxicated, investigators have determined later.
