The hurricane is expected to strike the Mexican coast in a few hours, according to the National Hurricane Center.


Today Grace has the highest category of hazard on the Saffir-Simpson scale and it is coming to the eastern coast of the Yucatan and Kintana-Roo states. If the forecast remains negative Grace can possibly hit the mainland of Mexico on Friday.

The Mexican officials took measures to evacuate at least 125 tourists from the hotels at the coast.The local authorities of Yucatan and Kintana-Roo declared an emergency in the region as well. Any work activities have been suspended. Moreover, the sea navigation and ports have been closed too.

The hurricane will bring heavy rain and a massive storm. The speed of the wind is capable of reaching 33.3 m/s. In addition, the height of the wave can be more than 5 meters.  

On Sunday a heavy storm made landfall in Haiti. A strong 7,2 magnitude earthquake killed almost 1,500 and injured 7,000 people on the island. Hurricane Grace is a part of that big natural disaster that struck the Caribbean region.
