The cause of the wreck has not been specified.
An Iraqi military helicopter with 5 soldiers on board hit the ground in Northern Iraq on Thursday. All five were killed, an Iraqi military statement says.
The vehicle smashed near the northern town of Amerli, 105 miles north of Baghdad, the Iraqi capital.
Officials have not revealed whether the accident happened because of technical problems or faced hostile fire.
The country’s army carries out regular military missions in the region against the remaining forces of ISIS* which located its forces in the area after the group’s defeat in 2017. Since then the Islamist extremists have conducted hit-and-run strikes in various parts of the country.
