Realization by Western countries of the fact that the Russian Federation is an independent power that puts its interests first is a major event for Russia's foreign policy over the past 15 years, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Russia will always have its national interests in the first place, which it is ready to honestly and equitably match with the national interests of any other country based on international law, the minister said in an interview with RT.
Lavrov stressed that this process is not over yet. According to him, the West continues to deprive Russia of the right to independently determine its future and is doing everything to prevent the Russian Federation from achieving success in foreign policy.
We treat this as a given, the foreign minister added.
NEWS.ru reported earlier that Lavrov slammed West's new accusations of interference.
