American lawyers are pressuring the UK court to extradite Julian Assange despite his mental health issues, as they take on another attempt to make the founder of WikiLeaks stand before US court.

Assange who is 50-years-old is facing 18 heavy criminal charges in the US which include the leaking of top secret military documents which was considered by the US as a break of the spying law as it puts many American lives in danger.

James Lewis who is currently working for the American government attempted once again to persuade the UK that fear over Assange committing suicide in the US is not a valid reason to deny extradition.

"The United States has also provided an assurance that the United States will consent to Mr Assange being transferred to Australia to serve any custodial sentence imposed on him," a released document with the lawyer’s statements read.

Supporters of Assange including his father Richard Assange and his partner Stella Moris have gathered near the court chanting “free Julian Assange.”

His supporters argue that he is a journalist hero who exposed American wrongdoing in Afghanistan.

The issue of Julian Assange’s extradition has been going on since 2012.

Assange himself claims innocence. He was to appear in court via a video, however the court said that he is incapable of doing so.
