The coronavirus pandemic will fade away next year, said Vadim Pokrovsky, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of the research department for the prevention and control of AIDS at the Research Institute of Epidemiology.
At the same time, he noted that mankind will never be able to cope with the spread of other dangerous diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV infection and malaria.
The academician also spoke about the plague, urging not to be afraid of this disease.
Pokrovsky added that the method of its treatment is known and simple, and all cases of this disease are monitored by specialists.
More than half a million people in Russia are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus.
