Putin said he was concerned about the beginning of NATO's military exploitation in Ukraine, noting that it could create significant security problems for the Russian Federation.

"I am concerned about another, more fundamental issue, namely the beginning of the military exploitation of Ukrainian territory. As per the Ukrainian Constitution, there cannot be any foreign military bases; only training centres or other facilities can be established there.... The military exploitation of a territory that directly borders us, creates significant security problems for us", Putin said.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu accused several times the US and its allies of pursuing military activity near the Russian territory, calling it “a clear anti-Russian orientation”.

“In Poland and the Baltic states, US forces are being reinforced … the intensity of aerial reconnaissance has been doubled compared to last year, and the intensity of naval reconnaissance has increased by one-and-a-half times.”, Shoigu said.

He noted that the foreign forces conduct considerable military training of an approximate number of 40 per year, near the Russian border. According to the Defense Minister, Russia redeployed its troops and military hardware to its border, to prevent a potential military threat at any time.
