Russia sees 496 deaths over COVID

Over the past day, 496 Russian citizens have died with COVID, NEWS.ru reports.


A total of 38,558 people have become victims of the infection in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

The biggest number of victims accounts for Moscow (77), Saint Petersburg (63), Krasnoyarsk Krai (24), and the Moscow region (23).

Russia has recorded a total of 2,215,533 coronavirus infection cases (+27,543 over the past day). This is while 1,712,174 people have recovered (26,682 over the past day).

 NEWS.ru reported earlier that the novel coronavirus mutation would not affect the vaccine’s effectiveness, Director of Russia’s Gamaleya National Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology Alexander Ginzburg said.
