The draw for the first round of the Champions Leagues playoffs was held on December 13 at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Journalist Tancredi Palmeri said that the Champions League round of 16 draws could be repeated.

One of the guests of the ceremony Andrei Arshavin pulled the ball to Villarreal's rivals with English Manchester United, a team that faced the Spanish club in the group stage of the tournament.

Therefore, they couldn’t play against each other in the 1/8 finals and the draw was incorrect. This false means that the whole draw will be revised.

“It’s getting more and more likely that the UCL draw will be repeated,” Palmeri said.

UEFA has recently announced that the Champions League round of 16 draws will be repeated on Monday in two hours.

According to the previous draw, the pairs were as follows:

Ajax (Netherlands) - Inter (Italy)

Liverpool (England) - Salzburg (Austria)

Lille (France) - Chelsea (England)

Manchester City (England) - Villarreal (Spain)

Real (Spain) - Benfica (Portugal)

Juventus (Italy) - Sporting (Portugal)

Atletico Madrid (Spain) - Bayern Munich (Germany)

Manchester United (England) - PSG (France)

The first matches of the 1/8 finals are scheduled for February 15/16/22/23, the return matches will take place on March 8/9/15/16.

The Champions League final is scheduled for May 28, 2022, and will be held at the Gazprom-Arena stadium in St. Petersburg.
