Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier have exchanged words via Twitter about the potential fight between these two and both fighters appear to be interested in the planned rivalry.

On Wednesday Dustin Poirier showed up on The MMA Hour podcast saying he would like to share the octagon with Nate Diaz following his loss to the champion Oliveira at the previous UFC 269 event.

Diaz seemed to appreciate this idea and mentioned the approximate date for the fight pointing at the beginning of the next year.

And some hours later both competitors initiated a brief dialogue on Twitter.

The weight division hasn’t been negotiated yet, but the fight between two UFC veterans might happen at 170 lbs. Nonetheless, mutual agreement and no other plans for both athletes seems to be a good start for the potential fight.

Initially, Diaz and Poirier should have met back in 2018 at UFC 230, but the fight wasn’t destined to happen. Both fighters have been blaming each other ever since when Diaz came forward with criticism over Poirier’s hip injury while Dustin accused Diaz of high contractual demands which served as a stumbling block to the fight implementation.
