The Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero has been substituted in the first half of Saturday’s La Liga match against Alaves after feeling pain in the chest.

Aguero, 33, was holding his chest and asked for a substitute shortly before the break. The Barcelona medics brought the stretcher but Aguero managed to walk off the pitch on his own.

“Aguero has reported chest discomfort and has been admitted to the hospital for a cardiac exam,” Barcelona said on Twitter.

The Football player will have to undergo cardiac tests at the hospital as a precautionary measure after leaving the ground in an ambulance.

"I was told he was feeling a bit dizzy. I have just learned that he was taken to hospital and I can't say much more until I know," Barcelona's caretaker manager Sergi Barjuan said.

ESPN's journalist Samuel Marsden claimed that Aguero apparently had tachycardia but he is doing fine.

Sergio Aguero joined Barcelona from Manchester City in the summer on a free transfer. He made his debut for the Spanish grand only in October after recovering from a calf injury.
