Specialists from the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS) expressed the opinion that the first-generation vaccine cannot prevent the spread of the coronavirus, MK.RU reports.

Research findings indicate that vaccines under trial are likely to prevent COVID-related illnesses, according to the report effectively. However, they probably won’t be able to influence the rate of disease transmission significantly.

According to the researchers, they don’t believe in a ‘magic cure’ that could return Australia and the entire world to what is now considered ‘normal’ before the pandemic.

At the same time, they noted that vaccines, treatments, and other available means of combating coronavirus should help reduce the number of hospitalizations and deaths.

NEWS.ru reported earlier that Russia and the UAE were discussing the possibility of licensed production of the Russian vaccine against COVID Sputnik V in the country.
