A royal expert Angela Levin has accused Meghan Markle of mocking the Queen in her newly released 40th birthday video where she was joined by British actress Melissa McCarthy 'online.'
In the video, Meghan announced a new project "40x40," which aims to get women back into the workplace with support from other women amid the COVID-19 pandemic while asked McCarthy to help out with an idea she had for her birthday party.
The actress cracks a series of jokes about how Meghan should celebrate her jubilee, from getting tattoos to having a yacht party before Markle revealed the social project. Prince Harry also appeared in the window behind by juggling in their background.
The pair are both seen drinking from traditional teacups while Melissa was wearing a fancy hat and textile gloves.
"Anyone else think that Meghan and her friend Melissa McCartney were mocking the Queen in the birthday video?" Angela Levin asked the netizens. "Both holding old-fashioned cup and saucer like Meg used in her blog after 1st meeting with Queen. Melissa sipping from the cup wearing fancy hat and gloves?"
"The mockery shows what she thinks of the Royal Family. She's got what she wanted and is confident she can outsmart us all. We just have to wait for Harry's outpouring in his memoir," a royal biographer continued.
Replying to her tweet, fellow royal biographer Robert Jobson wrote: "Maybe. Certainly poking fun at the Brits … with an outdated caricature. Par for the course."
"That was mocking the Brits. You don't have to be The Queen to enjoy a cup of tea made properly in a teapot and served in a porcelain cup and saucer it simply tastes better!" says the other reply to Levin's tweet.
That was mocking the Brits. You don't have to be The Queen to enjoy a cup of tea made properly in a teapot and served in a porcelain cup and saucer it simply tastes better! Non this sloppy teabag in a mug stuff I first was horrified by when visiting my Uncle in America.
Not just the queen but the British culture imo. Selling it and mocking it at the same time. Also, I think MM sees herself as an equal to TQ or trying to prove she is. Something must have happened between TQ&her leading her ego trips -trying to prove she can do better than TQ.

Nah, Americans are funny when it comes to afternoon tea. They think fancy hats, crooked pinkies and china are mandatory for tea. Kinda sad, they just don't get it. Look at some afternoon tea forums and pages this is their norm
"Wishing the Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday today!" the official royal family Instagram account said.
Queen Elisabeth shared three photos of Meghan, including one where they are together during their visit to Chester in 2018 and another of both Harry and Meghan with their son Archie in South Africa.
"Wishing a happy 40th birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!" said the text under the photo shared by Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall sent wishes via their Clarence House accounts sharing shared a picture of Markle from an event in Windsor in 2019: "Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday."
Previously, media pointed out that the newly born daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Lilibet did not appear in the royal line of succession despite seven full weeks passing after her birth.
