The Anonymous hacking collective threatened Tesla CEO Elon Musk with having liquidated dreams and "destroyed lives". With his recent breakup meme about a partner's relationship, followed by the hashtag #Bitcoin and a broken heart emoji, Musk has sent the prices of cryptocurrencies diving.

Hacktivist group revealed their plans to target the tech multibillionaire ever since.

"It appears that your quest to save the world is more rooted in the superiority and savior complex than it is actual concern for humanity. And people begin to see you as nothing more than another narcissistic rich dude who is desperate for attention," the group claimed in the video, accusing Musk's power over the cryptocurrency markets and his 'attitude'.

Bitcoin’s price went down 5% after the New York Stock Exchange closed and slid to $36,827.50 after Musk's heart-broken tweet. Prices of other cryptocurrencies also kept slipping. Another cryptocurrency, dogecoin, also lost more than 9% sinking to about 36 cents.

Hackers were forthright in their frustration with Musk. "Millions of retail investors were really counting on their crypto gains to improve their lives. This is something that you will never understand because you were born into the stolen wealth of a South African apartheid emerald mine and have no clue what struggle is like for most of the working people in the world," the group stressed.

"Of course, they took the risk upon themselves when they invested, and everyone knows to be prepared for volatility in crypto, but your tweets this week show a clear disregard for the average working person. As hardworking people have their dreams liquidated over your public temper tantrums, you continue to mock them with memes from one of your million-dollar mansions."

Since May Bitcoin's value slumped more than 30% when Tesla chief executive confirmed that the company would suspend accepting the cryptocurrency.
