The President showed up 20 minutes later and apologized for his lateness.
"I apologize for keeping you waiting. We were playing with elevators. Long story, anyway," Biden told the journalist.
It's not the first time when he's late. In August, the President showed up 34 minutes late for his briefing amid the troops withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Biden arrived in Rome to participate in the G20 meeting on October 29 as the President was captured traveling in a convoy that consisted of almost 100 vehicles.
After the G20 meeting, the President is expected to travel to Glasgow for the 26th Conference of the Parties to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26). Biden had already had a meeting in Rome with the Pope and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In addition, on Sunday Biden participated in the global warming negotiations where the representatives of the G20 members agreed to limit the global warming increase by 1.5°C compared with the pre-industrial era.
