Former Microsoft employees who previously signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement have uncovered information about the private life of former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, who is going through a divorce with Melinda French Gates after 27 years of marriage.
The staff claimed that the 65-year-old Microsoft founder had inappropriate extramarital relationships for years. The former employee said there were times when Gates drove to work in his Mercedes before an hour later driving off in a golden brown Porsche that an assistant brought for him.
“We all assumed that it was when he was with women,” the company's worker told Vanity Fair, assuming these episodes to be no secret to many of the people around him.
“I knew there were many offsite meetings that were not on his calendar.”
Another source close to Bill Gates affirmed that the billionaire would disappear from the office, saying he was “one of the most intensely scheduled people on the planet.”
Previously, the media reported that Gates pursued co-workers to go out a few times when he was the chairman of Microsoft. He stepped down from the board of the company in 2000.
As the couple's divorce proceeds, sources also told the magazine that someone in Melinda’s circle worked with a private investigator, but a spokesperson for Melinda later called the claim “completely false".
In 2018 newspapers wrote that Melinda French Gates was unhappy with how Bill dealt with a sexual harassment claim against his longtime money manager Michael Larson. In 2019, when the relationship between her husband and Jeffrey Epstein, who had been charged with sexually abusing young girls and died by suicide, came to be known to the public, Melinda reportedly hired divorce lawyers.
