Pregnant wife killer Peterson gets life term instead of death row

Scott Peterson, the man who was found guilty for double homicide of his wife Laci Peterson, who had been in the eighth month of pregnancy, and their soon to be born son has been resentenced to life imprisonment, according to TMZ.

In August 2020 the Supreme Court of California has canceled his death sentence as it was aware of the erroneous dismissal of jurors who stood against the most severe punishment for the murderer. The case had been consequently sent to further consideration.

On Wednesday a court ruled that Peterson would stay in jail for life with no chance to be released as he has received two sentences of the first- and the second-degree murders.

The mother of the killed in 2002 Laci Peterson couldn’t forgive the prisoner.

“You didn’t want the responsibility of being a father. You’re a coward,” Laci’s mother Sharon Rocha addressed to the murderer in court.

Laci Peterson suddenly disappeared on December 24, 2002 when she was in the last stage of pregnancy. The corpse of her and the unborn were found separate after four months washed ashore.

Following the crime Peterson was formally condemned to the death penalty in 2005.
