Reports of an investigation by the US Department of Justice into a possible scheme of giving a bribe in exchange for a presidential pardon are fake, said US leader Donald Trump.

On December 2, documents were declassified, which said the corruption scheme in which someone ‘would offer a substantial political contribution in exchange for a presidential pardon or reprieve of sentence.’ The names mentioned in the investigation are still unknown.

The documents also note that a judge granted federal prosecutors access to electronic devices in 2020 to analyze discussions around the bribe-for-pardon scheme.
