The man who allegedly drove his car into a Christmas parade in Waukesha killing at least five people turned out to be Darell Brooks Jr who was released on a bail just days before he committed the deadly attack.

The 39-year-old Brooks earlier drove into a crowd on his Ford Escape SUV and in addition to the deaths of the five people 40 others were injured.

Until now it is not proven that it is indeed him who carried out the attack however he remains the primary suspect and a person of interest.

One of the versions of the motive states that Brooks did not do it on purpose, instead he was just fleeing a nearby knife fight and drove into the crowd by accident.

A preliminary investigation has already ruled out that the case was not related to terrorism.

Brooks however does have a criminal record as his first recorded crime dates back to 1999.

Among his criminal records are charges with two counts of “second degree recklessly endangering safety” as well as “felon in possession of a firearm.”

Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm said that the state’s latest bail recommendation set at $1,000 was “inappropriately low in light of the nature of the recent charges and pending charges against Mr Brooks.”

Brooks is also an underground hip hop artist who performed under the tag MathBoi Fly.
