A large fire has erupted in one of the buildings in the center of the French capital Paris, as firefighters attempted to bring it to an end.
The fire erupted at the boulevard des Capucines and a tourist destination is located nearby which is the Place de L’Opera square.
The area is a popular sightseeing destination as it is where the Palais Garnier Opera House is located.
After flames became visible from the building’s windows firefighters were called while civilians were advised to clear the scene and avoid it.
The fire did not take any lives and the cause of the fire is yet to be established, according to latest information.
"There are no victims. When the firefighters arrived nobody made themselves known to them, be it in the offices or the dwellings," Florian Lointier, a spokesman for the fire brigade said in a statement.
