The production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in Germany is only possible if certified by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), deputy spokesperson of the German government Ulrike Demmer said, TASS reports.

If we talk about production capacities in Europe for the Russian vaccine, this is possible only if the EMA allows the drug, the spokesperson noted.

The German Ministry of Health couldn’t answer the question whether the EMA had received such a request. Officials recommended contacting the agency directly.

NEWS.ru reported earlier that at least 92 percent of patients vaccinated by Russia’s Sputnik V received complete protection from COVID, said Alexander Gintsburg, head of the Gamaleya Center.
