Almost 20 countries have decided to suspend flights with the UK due to the spread of the new strain of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in the UK.

Belgium and France have imposed a short-term ban. Belgian authorities canceled all flights from Britain for the next day, and Paris stopped accepting planes from London for 48 hours, according to Lenta.Ru.

Germany and Sweden halted flights with the UK; the Netherlands stopped receiving British tourists until January 1. Similar restrictions were imposed by other European countries - Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Bulgaria.

Flights from Britain were also suspended in Argentina, Turkey, and Canada.

Meanwhile, Riyadh decided to close the borders of Saudi Arabia with all countries temporarily.

NEWS.ru reported earlier that the ‘British’ strain of coronavirus had been found in Italy.
