A teen of 14 years has appeared in court charged for the killing of a five-year-old child in Britain.

The killer’s name is not known to the public as due to his age he cannot be identified under the law, while the victim’s name is Logan Mwangi.

“Detectives investigating the death of five-year old Logan Mwangi from Sarn, Bridgend, have charged a 14-year-old boy with murder,” a spokesman for South Wales Police said in a statement.

The trial started with Judge Stephen Harmes telling him to take his hands out of his pockets.

The Judge later continued saying “You'll be going to Crown Court probably next week but for now you'll continue as you have been.”

Logan was reported missing a short while after his body was found in Ogmore River in Bridgend, UK.

His dead body was taken to a nearby hospital where it was confirmed that he is no longer alive and nothing can be done to save him.

Both the father and the mother of the victim were also accused. The 39-year-old John Cole was accussed of murder while the 30-year-old Angharad Williamson is charged with preventing the course of justice.

They will have a four-week trial which will analyze their role in what happened to Logan.

The trial will begin on the 31st of January.
