Part of a five-story apartment building collapsed in the Georgian resort city of Batumi located on May 26 street, local news agency Batumelebi reported on Friday.

The reason caused the collapse is still unknown. Ambulance crews, firefighters, and rescuers have been working at the scene. Police have secured the spot. Special equipment was mobilized.

According to local media, residents help rescuers clean up the rubble. A child of about 6-7 years old was saved from the car buried under a pile of debris, which was parked close to the partially collapsed building. Georgian citizens had to move the part of a condo wall by hand to reach the kid who was alive and taken to the hospital. Later he kid's mother was also taken out of the same vehicle.

At least ten cars remain blocked under the wrecks, media said.

Another man was rescued from the debris by the Georgian Emergency Services. Reportedly, there are still might be people under the remains, including children.

People contacted emergency teams right from the rubble by phone and via the Internet. Two residents reached the Georgian Ministry of Emergencies, one posted a comment on Facebook. 

There was at least one family still trapped in the debris. All of the family members were at home when it happened.

No casualties have been confirmed yet.

Witnesses told the reporters they heard a loud pop before the section of the condo building broken down.
