Iran insists that the US and the Islamic Republic have agreed on a prisoner exchange deal after the United States denied such claims.

Iranian governmental official Seyed Abbas Araghchi accused the US of linking the prisoner deal to the upcoming Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action talks in Vienna.

Ned Prince, US State Department’s spokesman denied having a previous agreement on the swap and said that Iran’s statements are an “outrageous effort” to deflect blame for the current deadlock of the JCPOA on the US.

The spokesman for the Iranian ministry of foreign affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh said on his Twitter account that the real outrageous action is that of the US.

Both countries state that they are ready for the exchange but until now no further progress is to be known.

Previously Iran announced that it has the capability to enrich uranium up to 90% purity if needed.
