According to British sources the UK’s Asphalt Princess has been hijacked, as up to 10 armed men boarded the vessel in an unauthorized boarding.

The UK is working on the assumption that Iran itself or its proxies are responsible for the attack.

The Times defense editor tweeted the news accusing Iran of the attack.

Iran itself, however denied all claims and says that the incidents on the Gulf of Oman look oddly suspicious, as the incidents come several days after two crew members, a Briton and a Romanian were killedwhen an Israeli oil tanker Mercer Street was targeted by a drone airstrike off the coast of Oman in the Arabian Sea.

Many countires including the UK, US and Israel blame Iran directly for its participation in the attack.

Iran denies wrongdoing, as following the accusations, Iran has warned of a "strong" response to any move that threatens Tehran’s security following the US, the UK and Israel blamed Iran for an attack on an Israeli-operated oil tanker in the Arabian Sea.
