Japanese authorities are investigating cases of death and loss of consciousness after taking the antifungal agent Itraconazole, Gazeta.Ru reports.

After taking medicine against nail fungus, 128 people were reported to have lost consciousness and memory, and later the manufacturer Kobayashi Kako reported the death of one of them.

Officials from the Fukui Prefecture, where the pharmaceutical company is headquartered, are investigating the link between the cases and the drug. At the same time, it is already known that sleeping pills got into one of the batches of Itraconazole.

For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic, doctors in Japan recorded the death from the deadly pathogen among patients younger than 20, reported earlier.
