The Turkish authorities intend to carry out free vaccination of the population against coronavirus, Minister of Healthcare Fahrettin Koca said, Hurriyet newspaper reports.

He said that negotiations with the Chinese vaccine manufacturer Sinovac have already been completed. Besides, all legal components have already been completed, and the supply agreement has been signed.

At least 10 million doses of the vaccine have already been sent to start vaccination, he said.

He also stressed that vaccination would be carried out completely free of charge for the country's citizens.

Fahrettin Koca said that the coronavirus pandemic had reached its second peak in the country.

Charles Michel, President of the European Council, has proposed an initiative to ensure a better global response to future pandemics, NEWS.ru reported earlier.
