Karpathos island in Greece was hit by a magnitude 6.4 earthquake which has led many cities in the eastern Mediterranean to shake.


No serious damage or casualties were reported until the moment. 

The earthquake was 6.4 magnitude while its depth was recorded to be 37.8 km. according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The information transmitted by Greek news outlets says that such Greek Islands as Crete and Santorini have also felt the earthquake.

Greece was not the only country that was affected as Israel, Lebanon and Egypt also registered the earthquake.

This is the third earthquake in recent weeks, as on the 27th of September a 6.5 magnitude earthquake shook the Hellenic island of Crete while several weeks after Crete was struck again by an earthquake of 6.3 magnitudes.
