The death toll of deceased with COVID-19 in Australian Victoria has ramped up as the authorities confirmed five more deaths of coronavirus, having among them a child under 10, the youngest to die with the Covid presence in Australia.

The Department of Health hasn’t provided any concrete number of the child’s age when confirmed total deaths on Friday.

The department also reported that the youngster’s death came with “serious comorbidities.”

The previous youngest person in Australia to die with COVID-19 earlier had been a 15-years-old from Sydney.

As of now, there are 9,497 active coronavirus cases in Victoria, less by 4332 from the day before. 

The total number of  COVID-19 deaths in Australia counts for 1,938 since the pandemic approached, according to authorities.

The Department of Health reports that 84,9% of the population aged 16 and above are fully vaccinated.
